Deep in the forest, under a ceiling of leaves, a silverback has lost his temper. Gorilla Fury Hold & Hit is Spinomenal's jungle slot from 2025, and the gorilla is its Wild: the one face on the reels that stands in for almost everything else.
Around him is the rest of the forest. A leopard, a coiled snake, an African grey parrot and, closest to our hearts, a hippo. The letters are carved from wood and wound with vines, and the bonus symbols are balls of fire, which is how you know the fury isn't just a name.

The jungle cast and what it pays
Prizes are multiples of your line bet, which is your total bet divided by 25. So the gorilla's top line of 500× comes to 20 times what you staked on the spin.
| Symbol | 3 on a line | 4 on a line | 5 on a line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gorilla (Wild) | 25× | 250× | 500× |
| Leopard | 25× | 250× | 400× |
| Hippo | 20× | 150× | 300× |
| Grey parrot | 15× | 100× | 200× |
| Snake | 10× | 50× | 150× |
| A, K, Q, J | 5× | 10× | 30× |
The gorilla doesn't replace the tree or the fireballs. And three or four gorillas in a row only pay if a tree or a fireball lands next along the line; five pay on their own.
Hold & Hit, spin by spin
Land six or more fireballs anywhere and the round begins. The fireballs that started it stay put, every other square clears, and you have three spins.
Each fireball that lands during the round sticks, and sends the counter back up to three. Every one carries a prize: between 1× and 10× your total bet, or one of three jackpots, Mini at 25×, Major at 50× and Mega at 250×. When the counter reaches zero, the fireballs are added up and paid.
The fourth jackpot is the Grand. Cover all fifteen squares and it pays 5,000× your total bet, in place of everything else on the grid, not on top of it.
Free spins and the colossus
Free spins hang on a tree symbol that, outside the round, appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 and nowhere else. Land all three and you get three free spins plus a payout of three times your total bet.
What makes those three spins count is the colossus. During free spins any symbol can drop in as one giant 3×3 block over reels 2, 3 and 4, nine squares in one go. The tree and the fireball only land in this form during the round: a colossus tree adds three spins and pays 3× again, and a colossus fireball opens Hold & Hit.
Gorilla Fury or Blazing Rhino?
Spinomenal made both, and under the fur and the horn they're the same game. Same rules, same paytable multiples, same RTP settings, same four jackpots. Our Blazing Rhino Hold & Hit review takes you through it from the savannah side.
So choose by setting. Blazing Rhino is open grassland in the afternoon sun, all gold and acacia. Gorilla Fury is darker and greener, a misty forest, and it has the hippo. That settles it for us, though we'll admit to a bias. Both are out there with the rest of the wildlife in our Wild Africa slots.
